HP Laserjet 1022nw and WPA encryption

Many people seem to have problems with their HP LaserJet 1022nw when using WPA encryption on their wireless network, as can be seen on some HP support forum pages. If you search yourself you might not find anything since HP seems to remove the posts.

I myself came in contact with this problem when I had a customer that wanted to integrate the printer into his existing wireless network, since the laserjet 1022nw can speak WIFI (802.11b/g)

As anyone knows that are remotely familiar with wifi security, using WEP is not a very good option.
It maybe is better than no security at all. And that is not even certain, since a false sense of security might be a more severe security threat.
If you wanted to, you could access a WEP network in a matter of minutes, by making a remote crack attempt to discover the secret WEP key.

HP says on their homepage that the printer supports WPA, and indeed some people manage to get it to work.
However, if you dont get a steady blue light on the printer, and nothing seems work, then you might have this WPA problem.

The workaround:
Disable QoS in the wifi router. If you can't do that, you might be out of luck.

And this problem has been known by HP for several years, and they have still not made any attempt to fix this.
That is nothing but poor support for their products and forcing their customers to use lower levels of security for their wireless networks.
