So i worked at the Arvika festival this summer 2006 in the IT and telecommunications group. It was mostly great. However it was a bit hard to have to leave Uppsala and Frida (my girlfriend).
The accomodation was not bad at all. We were two people (me and Joel) sharing a room, with our own shower and toilet.
That is extreme luxury compared to the average standard.

The work was mostly related to making sure the connections and cables worked. Also it was some small hassle with printers and so on. But it was ok. I met some people there that i got really surprised to see, like two of my corridor neighbours from Uppsala, Malin and Hanna.

But it was the music that made me go to Arvikafestivalen.
I got to listen to a few bands that were good.

Combichrist - Good scene performance

Covenant - Very good act

Alice in Videoland - Good scene performance

Juno Reactor - Very good, and i laughed a lot later since me and Joel went scene backstage (since IT guys have access to everything at the festival) and watched as the fat and ugly people that was Juno Reactor appeared when they took off the makeup and changed clothes backstage after the performance. And we spoke with Ben Watkins of Juno Reactor, who was a really nice guy.

Nitzer Ebb - Not entirely my cup of tea, but rock heavy industrial music. That cant be entirely bad. He used to say "thank you, and fuck you!" a lot, which i thought was a bit amusing.

Cryo - Good EBM

and a many more...

During the time the festival area was open to visitors, we didnt have very much to do. It was quite boring, but we got see a lot of the festival and the bands on the other hand. It was good to have access to the whole festival area.

It just is so much easier to have access everywhere. It was not because it is soo cool being backstage :-P .
No not at all. It was mostly boring backstage. It was a bit more interesting going scene backstage and media backstage.

And i met a lot of cool people there, and it was mostly fun, so if i am able to, I just might show up at the Arvika festival 2007.

Peace!
